The 20th Anniversary Jubilee: A Cultural and Literary Celebration in 2022 honored Cheryl Wills an Emmy Award-winning journalist for Spectrum News NY1 and Troy D. Johnson, founder of the African American Literature Book Club (AALBC). The Honorary Chair was poet, activist, and lifetime supporter Sonia Sanchez. Honorary Committee members were Dr. Greg Carr, Edwidge Danticat, Karen Hunter, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Talib Kweli, and Dr. Cornel West. The Jubilee provided an opportunity to celebrate the longevity of the Center as well as the myriad Black authors, poets, and scholars whose works have had an influential impact on Black literature, history, and culture.
